Digital marketing companies face a few common problems when hiring freshers, which can be solved by both the employer and the employee. Here's how--

Whether you work for a start-up, a structured organisation or for yourself, going digital is the need of the hour. Millennials all over the world are consuming digital content every second of their lives, making India the world's second largest internet population; and this will grow even further in the coming years. Digital media has transformed the phase of the marketing sector by being favoured by marketers all over. Even though most of us are still adapting to this changing environment, the youth is breathing the air of this versatile industry, everyday.

It is safe to say, that as businessmen, we have the skill, experience and opportunity to solve perplexing obstacles that come our way. Freshers, unfortunately, lack even the basic problem solving skills. This is one of the reasons why there are a number of agencies and organisations experiencing hiring blues while recruiting freshers. In spite of wanting a fresh pool of talent to work with, We can see a clear divide in the hiring problems faced on recruiting freshers and experienced personnel.

To get to the core of this crunch, we undertook a survey of the job requirements of over 450 small and big digital marketing agencies and corporate with in-house digital marketing wings located in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. As expected, the challenge lay in the fact that certain significant skill sets were missing in today's generation.

Here are the top four problems employers face while recruiting freshers:

Lack of job readiness

Problem: There is a widespread dissatisfaction among employers while recruiting college graduates or freshers. There are several things amiss when it comes to freshers-- focus towards their job, taking initiatives and being efficient, accepting procedures and protocols, and being flexible.
